WiMAX with Bolloré Télécom
The new standard in wireless high-speed broadband data transmission, WiMAX is a truly strategic tool.
In partnership with Alcatel, Hub télécom conducted pilot tests for business use in collaboration with its customers, Air France (at Roissy CDG) and Airbus (at Toulouse).
Thanks to these pilots, which in particular enabled airport business users to test the benefits of wireless broadband connections, Hub télécom will be able to forecast WiMAX use on complex activity sites like airports.
In this context, Hub télécom in consortium with “Bolloré Télécom” has been granted 20 licences by ARCEP. Accepted by the consortium, they represent strong growth potential, especially for mobile broadband services on site for our clients in the transport, freight and logistics worlds.
Using WiMAX technology, Hub télécom is developing its fixed line and wireless mobile networks, in order to extend the coverage of its broadband services at airports.
WiMAX technology makes it possible:
- to have a bandwidth up to 30 Mb/s
- to deploy point-multipoint redundant and secure access
- to manage service quality end-to-end
- to link isolated sites wirelessly over long distances
This technology complements Wifi, in which Hub télécom already has a great deal of experience.
